Hannah Schultz ’21 (hospitality and tourism management) was awarded the Drew Montecuollo Memorial Award for exceptional graduating seniors majoring in hospitality.

Drew Montecuollo graduated from Saunders’ in 1979, going on to serve as faculty from 1983 until his death in 1988. Montecuollo served as an inspiration to all hospitality students, therefore an award is given to a high-ranking hospitality student every year in his honor. That student must be creative, maintain high standards, and achieve great success in the hospitality field, in addition to acting in service to Saunders College of Business.

The student that best exemplified these qualities was Hannah Schultz. Schultz served on the Executive Board for the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) Student Chapter at RIT for three years; deeply involving herself in recruiting members, organizing educational workshops, and fundraising to help students attend the International Hotel and Motel Show and Conference in New York City. She volunteered to lead Hospitality and Tourism students to host RIT’s annual Valentine’s Dinner, which has become one of the best-received events on campus. Through a variety of well-organized educational and social activities, Hannah was able to bring students in the Hospitality and Tourism program together and increase the coherence of the student body in the department.

Congratulations to Hannah Schultz on this wonderful achievement.
