I see Saunders College of Business as an opportunity to learn how to combine finance and technology. It has provided me with the opportunity to collaborate with people from different backgrounds and cultures that help me develop as a professional and as an individual.
Even though KKR is one of the largest investment management firms, it has a unique culture. People are willing to help all the time, and executives constantly communicate the company's vision and strategic plan. As an intern, I was exposed to many sides of the business, not only technology. The projects that I was involved in have a significant impact on company operations. In addition to that, I think that everyone is in constant communication and willing to share their experience.
I think that students from RIT are competitive and are even better positioned than many interns in these companies. We have both the technical and business skills to stand out in any business environment. The combination of technical (SQL, R, C#) and the core business classes gives us an advantage over many people in the workplace.
I feel that the most distinctive advantage I gained from my Saunders experience was being a business student with high-level technical skills.
