One of the driving motivations at RIT’s Saunders College of Business, is to ensure that students are career ready upon completing their studies. The efforts by our expert faculty to impart the knowledge necessary for success in an increasingly tech-oriented business world, is compounded by the connections one can build through cooperative education programs, the school’s Alumni, and successful entrepreneurs.
Having this be a guiding focus at all levels of study, has resulted in Saunders achieving a 94% placement rate average over four years for its undergraduate and graduate programs collectively. Students graduating from the MBA program had such success with job placement for instance, that US News & World Reports recognized Saunders as #9 in that regard among all ranked schools.
Graduates from the business school are among the most well-prepared to jump in headfirst to a variety of different fields and industries. Saunders’ Management Information Systems (MIS) program for instance has recently been ranked #10 nationally once again by USA Today/College Factual. Held for the second year in a row, the recognition accounts for placement rates, outcomes-based data, salaries, and more. MIS, which emphasizes how to use advanced information and cutting edge communications tech. in improving organization processes, has been one program in particular that has increasingly opened more and more doors for students.
Taught by a skilled faculty, Saunders curriculum has been carefully composed in recent years with the intent of preparing students for careers in the evolving worlds of business and technology. For each program at Saunders, an advisory board of industry experts exists to provide insight on market trends needing to be reflected in coursework. Something especially important considering the always forward-looking and continual nature of technological innovation.
Cooperative Education (Co-op) opportunities are another vital component of Saunders’ curriculum. We see them as invaluable chances for students to apply what they’ve learned and prepare for what life after graduation might be like. Luckily being a part of RIT, Saunders students have access to a resource like the Office of Career Services and Cooperative Education. They are always ready to assist in finding opportunities, as well as in fostering the aforementioned connections. Aside from having access to an advisor unique to your major, there are both university-wide (Career Fair Day) and more Saunders specific (Accounting Career Fair) events that they facilitate to expand students’ networks.
In a similar fashion, strong industry connections allow Saunders to know what programs and material are relevant to businesses today. Something which also enables students’ capstone projects to even be conducted for real companies.
