As a part of Saunders College’s efforts to prepare students for today’s business world, we’ve strived to provide several outlets where there is the chance to learn first-hand what is relevant to top enterprises. One such program is Traveling Tigers: regularly scheduled visits to such companies where students will have the opportunity to meet with local business professionals, tour their facilities and network over lunch.

Through Traveling Tigers, students get the chance to experience the work environment of the specific jobs (and industries) they’ll very likely be pursuing with their particular degree(s). You will have the opportunity to network with employees and learn about their career responsibilities. It is a great program that allows students to explore a new career path that you might be interested in, or may not have known about. The program exists as another resource to ensure those studying at Saunders will be career ready.

Gleason Corporation

On a recent trip, several students visited Gleason Corporation -- a leader in the development, manufacture and sale of gear production machinery and related equipment and a frequent research partner of RIT. RIT’s engineering college is even named after one of the company’s past leaders, Kate Gleason. Students where had the chance to learn about business careers in a high-production manufacturing organization.

Such visits are open to all Saunders students, both undergraduate and graduate. When such opportunities arise, we recommend enrolling as soon as possible here, as space is limited to 20 students. Stay tuned during the coming weeks for the announcement of more companies participating in Traveling Tigers. Another visit may be in the cards for some time during November or early December.
