RIT Saunders College of Business marketing students, Joe Morone and Maria Tovar, placed first in the 5th annual AMA Rochester Collegiate Relations Conference Case Contest.
The marketing campaign competition took place at Brook Lea Country Club on Feb. 23, where student teams were selected to participate from local business colleges and universities. Morone and Tovar provided an in-depth case analysis on Charles Schwab & Co., the official sponsor of the 5th annual collegiate conference. The duo was awarded $1,000 toward the RIT Saunders College of Business Marketing Club to further develop the clubs’ educational opportunities.
“Joe and Maria did an outstanding job on the case analysis, submitting an entire marketing plan including a primary market research effort where they went out and surveyed students directly to get their perspective on Charles Schwab,” said Professor Laurie Dwyer, faculty advisor at Saunders College of Business. “The judging was done by the Charles Schwab marketing VP/team in San Francisco. They then turned that information into an insightful analysis with creative strategy recommendations. They definitely did us proud!”
In addition to the outstanding achievement of Morone and Tovar, the RIT School of Communication placed second overall in the competition.
