Well-rounded and versatile, Saunders students are ready for business
The spring semester of The Freshman Experience: Biz 1+2 program at Saunders College of Business features the “Third Hour,” a series of professional development seminars introducing students to business topics with a focus on learning outcomes. Placing an emphasis on developing the skills and competencies to become successful business people, the third hour helps students identify and refine the soft career skills and needed for success after graduation.
In the "Third Hour," students hear from several guest speakers, student panels and hands-on team activities. First-years students not only get advice on their business plans and entrepreneurial ventures, but students are exposed to T-shaped competencies that employers are looking for. Introducing these concepts in the first year prepares students for a successful undergraduate career, by giving students the time to grow and refine their skills before entering the workforce.
As you prepare your students to be leaders and entrepreneurs, view Saunders dedicated resources offered to DECA members for opportunities aimed at helping students achieve their potential. If you'll be in Nashville for the "International Career Development Conference," April 23-26, we'll see you there!
