David Fuehrer '02, '03 (professional and technical communication and MBA) is seeking partnerships for cureLauncher, a cancer research crowdfunding website. CureLauncher is an online community that helps to bring new treatments to people more efficiently by making funding open and easy.
The Livestrong Foundation recently blogged about cureLauncher, describing it as "truly modern platform that gets people involved in improving access to emerging treatments and medications."
Fuehrer says that the blog is an important first step in building the public's awareness of cureLauncher.
Cancer research is a topic that Fuehrer has had personal experience with-he has survived cancer twice. He was first diagnosed with cancer during his undergraduate education at RIT.
"The faculty at RIT did an amazing job supporting me personally and academically," he says. "RIT has formed the foundation of everything I've done and I utilize the skills I gained from my education every day to bring new treatments to market."
Fuehrer, who lives in Troy, Mich., co-founded cureLauncher in 2012 after working for the consulting and research firm Ducker Worldwide for eight years.
