Paper on Blockchain Technology Receives Best Paper Award

Dr. Manlu Liu and graduate student Shoufan Qiu received the Best Paper Award for their coauthored paper titled “Diffusion of Innovation in Accounting: How have the Big Four been Adopting Blockchain Technology.”  They presented their findings at the SIGBPS Workshop on Blockchain and Smart Contract in December of 2018.

Programs at RIT China's BJTU Campus Perform Well

The first joint program established between Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) and RIT was the 2+2 degree program. “For Chinese students ‘2+2’ means studying two years in their home country and then coming over here,” said Dr. John Tu, Saunders’ Senior Associate Dean and liaison between the schools.

Kevin Sheldon announced as new Alumni Association President

Kevin Sheldon '02 (management information systems) began serving his two-year term as the new Alumni Association President on Jan. 1.

In addition to his career as vice president of operations at CareJourney, Sheldon is passionate about serving the RIT community and its more than 125,000 alumni.

"The Alumni Association works to support the RIT alumni community in any way we can. We are evaluating how we serve alumni in general, how to get them more engaged, and looking at ways that we can continue to get them involved at a deeper level," said Sheldon.

Alumnus works to bring meaningful change to people's lives in India and Dubai

Darshan Hiranandani was on the way to Egypt from India to vacation with his family when they stopped in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Hiranandani '02, '03 (management information systems, MBA) had earlier returned to Mumbai after graduation to work at Hiranandani Group, his family's real estate business and India's largest residential developer.

In Dubai, they had dinner with friends, who encouraged the family to think about doing real estate there.
