RIT honors outstanding professors of the year

The Celebration of Teaching and Scholarship, which honors the recipients of the annual Eisenhart Awards, is set for Tuesday, April 17. The awards recognize members of the RIT community "who contribute significantly to student learning and academic scholarship." This year's recipients come from four different RIT colleges:

RIT scientist organizes second international symposium on 'Global Women of Light'

Rochester Institute of Technology associate professor Jie Qiao is collaborating with the Optical Society (OSA) Foundation to host the second annual symposium for women in optics and photonics.

The free Global Women of Light Symposium will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 17 in Washington, D.C., as part of the Frontiers in Optics OSA Conference. Keynote speaker Elizabeth Rogan, CEO of OSA, The Optical Society, will present "Advancing Women in Optics."

Saunders College of Business names J. Warren McClure Research Professor of Marketing

Rajendran "Raj" Murthy has been named J. Warren McClure Research Professor of Marketing at Rochester Institute of Technology's Saunders College of Business. He is the second professor from the business school to hold the esteemed research position-previously held by Professor Emeritus of Marketing Eugene H. Fram, who retired from RIT in 2008.

RIT names Adrienne Decker as Fram Faculty Fellow in Applied Critical Thinking

Adrienne Decker has been named Fram Faculty Fellow in Applied Critical Thinking at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Decker, a native of Buffalo, will assume her post immediately for the 2017-2018 term, according to Jennifer Schneider, RIT's Eugene H. Fram Chair in Applied Critical Thinking and professor in the College of Applied Science and Technology.
