Saunders College Financial Aid Resources

Depending on which type of undergraduate student you are, the financial aid process is slightly different. Please visit the RIT Office of Financial Aid for resources specifically for you. A complete list of merit-based scholarships is available.

Saunders Scholarships

Saunders College of Business offers several scholarships specifically for business students. If you meet the requirements, you may apply to receive additional scholarship funds. Please see the individual scholarship application forms below for requirements and information about who to contact.

Saunders Merit Scholarship

Each year many generous alumni and corporate donors contribute funds to dozens of Saunders College of Business Merit Awards. Like Scholarships, these donations enable the Saunders College to distribute Merit Awards to Saunders College of Business students who have demonstrated strong leadership abilities and who have excelled within their academic programs.

After earning a minimum of 12 credits, students may apply for a Merit Award. To apply, students must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.20, and must have earned a minimum of 12 credit hours from Rochester Institute of Technology.

  • Awardees must be enrolled in a Saunders College of Business undergraduate program.
  • PREP students are not eligible for Saunders College Merit Awards.
  • Bridge students are not eligible for Saunders College Merit Awards.
  • Apply for a Saunders College of Business Merit Award


Please submit your Saunders Merit Scholarship application electronically (all submissions must be electronic only) to scholarships@saunders.rit.edu by the April 15 deadline.

M&T Bank Scholarship

The M&T Bank Scholars Program provides a scholarship for one community-college transfer entering Saunders College of Business as a full-time student. The key elements of this program are funding in the form of a scholarship and a mentoring program that provides assistance with career decision-making and planning.

To be considered for this outstanding opportunity, a candidate must be a minority student residing in Monroe County with a sincere interest in the financial services industry, who has been accepted as a community-college transfer to Saunders College of Business as a full-time student. Candidates should also have excellent academic records with demonstrated leadership through school or community involvement.

Download an application to apply for the M&T Bank Scholarship. Applications are due by May 1 for fall enrollment. Late applicants will be considered if funds are available. Please contact the RIT Office of Financial Aid  to check on funding availability.
