Larry Maggio has over thirty years of experience as both a practitioner and educator of supply chain management principles. He is an alumnus of the Rochester Institute of Technology, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering in 1981. His career has included leadership positions in product forecasting, production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations. He has supported organizations that service the Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Phonics, Industrial, and Consumer Goods industries. Larry is currently in the supply chain management department at CooperVision in Scottsville, New York where he is part of a team responsible for planning the production of thirty million contact lenses annually.
Larry is President of APICS Rochester, a non-profit dedicated to educating individuals and local businesses in supply chain management through APICS certification courses and related professional development meetings. APICS is a division of the Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM), a global leader in supply chain organizational transformation, innovation and leadership. This year, the APICS Rochester board of directors worked with RIT to create a new Student Chapter, “APICS@RIT” to support the next generation of supply chain management professionals as they transition into their new careers.
Larry is a native to Webster, New York and lives there with his wife Mindy. They have three boys (Jeff, Nathan, and Justin). Mindy is a graduate from the Saunders College of Business, while their 3rd son Justin recently graduated from the Kate Gleason College of Engineering. Their other two sons are graduates from SUNY Geneseo, Jeff (Mathematics) and Nathan (Biology).
