I know I’ve said in my other blog posts that every day has been amazing, but that doesn’t even begin to describe today.
Today had easily some of the best visits of the week!
On Monday we had the opportunity of meeting with Steve Capps, an RIT alumni who has a startup in the Bay Area known as PayNearMe. Capps moved straight from RIT to Xerox, then worked for Apple, and after spending some time in Paris, was coaxed by Apple to return to his former position.
This was the first day this week that we all actually got to sleep in. In fact, some of us managed to sleep all the way until 8am! I haven’t felt so rested in a long time.
Today began much earlier than I think most of us wanted to. After a late-night visit with a tailor, finding the strength to wake up at 5:00 was a challenge.
My name is Shari Maxwell and I started the Online Executive MBA program in February of 2013. At the time, I was living in Hagerstown, MD, working as a Production Manager for Rust-Oleum.
Today we finally got around to the main reason behind this amazing trip- learning about doing business in China!
Today was probably one of the biggest things my group was looking forward to this entire trip- getting to see one of the seven wonders of the world, the Great Wall!
But none of us realized just how long a trek it would be to reach it!
Hello from Beijing! First the weather: 73 degrees, no clouds, and very little smog! We were stunned by the beauty of the day: As Paul Harvey would say, and now the rest of the story!
This is it- after a 14 hour flight from Chicago, we are in Beijing! It was a long and tiring trip, but that’s all behind us now, and we were just excited to get going!
What a great opportunity for RIT Saunders College of Business, Dean dt ogilvie’s International Business Students, to visit some great companies’ Beijing operations.
In just two days, I’ll be on a plane to the other side of the world. Even as I’m typing, I still can’t believe it! Even my friends and family are still in shock. After all, it’s not every day that a college kid gets to visit China for spring break!
From January 4th, 2014 to January 15th, 2014, Jon Eppolito and Airin O’Connor, RIT MBA students, traveled to Haiti.
