Bio: 

Dr. Yang Yu is an Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems in the Saunders College of Business of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). He teaches at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Dr. Yu is winner of the Best Interdisciplinary Research Award of National Decision Sciences Institute and the Zutes Research Fellowship of Saunders College of Business.

Dr. Yu's research focuses on Information Extraction, Predictive Analysis and Unstructured Data Mining. As a data scientist, Dr. Yu is applying cutting edge big data techniques and AI to problem solving in different disciplines, for example, Healthcare, E-Commerce, Marketing, Hospitality, Sports, and Manufacturing, etc. He has published extensively in prestigious journals such as Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, International Journal of Production Research, Communication of the ACM, Journal of Medical Systems, etc.

Dr. Yu received his Ph.D. degree from the Area of Information Systems and Quantitative Sciences (ISQS), Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University. He also holds a Management Science and Engineering Ph.D. from the School of Economics and Management at Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics.
