Welcome Young Entrepreneurs Academy members, friends, family, and fans! With E. Philip Saunders as our namesake, Saunders College of Business could not be more proud to partner with YEA! for the Thirteenth Annual Saunders Scholars Competition to Rochester Institute of Technology. We are excited for this year's virtual event, which is expected to draw hopefully its largest crowd thanks to broadcast and production partner Rochester, NY WHAM Channel 13, an ABC-TV affiliate, home to the hit series Shark Tank.
This competition embodies the RIT entrepreneurial spirit. This is found in RIT centers such as our top-ranked Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship, The Construct makerspace for rapid prototyping, and our Venture Creations incubator, which bring students of all disciplines together through a wide variety of activities, providing real world experience while complementing our curriculum. Saunders prepares all Freshmen with our unique Freshman Experience: Biz 1-2 program where first-year students create businesses from conception to commercialization as a cohort. This introduces them to fundamentals of business and serves as a valuable reference throughout their business degree program.
We hope you enjoy your experiences under this innovative format, performing virtually with other YEA! student competitors. Take pride and have fun sharing your hard work and creativity with family members, judges, business leaders, and curious visitors. We hope to invite you all on campus one day to experience all that RIT has to offer, and for the winners, to experience our own RIT Tiger Tank competition.
