RIT's Commencement Weekend hosts numerous events and activities to recognize the graduating students. The university hosts an Academic Convocation to celebrate the graduates from all nine of RIT's colleges, the Center for Multidisciplinary Studies, and the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. Saunders College of Business graduates are also welcome and encouraged to attend the college ceremony that individually recognizes each student and their success. For detailed information about Commencement Weekend, check out the RIT Commencement webpage.
At the University-wide Academic Convocation, Saunders College very own Ashley Carrington gave a speech as 63rd President of RIT Student Government and the first African American woman to hold office.
At the Saunders Ceremony, two student delegates were selected to represent the undergraduate and graduate classes to address their peers. Speakers included Undergraduate Delegate Stone Harrison and Graduate Delegate Doris Shayo. Check out Harrison’s full speech on how Henry Ford reminds him of “the long and windy road we have traveled since becoming students at RIT.” Or view Shayo’s speech on “What I Love About Saunders,” including “One of the many things I love that stands out about our college is the fact that we are taught to embrace design and critical thinking. We are taught to process information not just at face value. Fortunately–or unfortunately–I no longer look at ordinary things the same way.”
Congratulations to all Saunders Graduates and Families!
